Beechbrook Capital speaks at the Private Debt Investor Conference in New York

17th September 2014 – Paul Shea spoke at the inaugural Private Debt Investor conference in New York. He was part of a panel of general partners and limited partners discussing the opportunities in European private debt. The conference was well attended by US GPs and LPs and there was considerable interest in investing in Europe.

It was clear that there remains a strong demand for yield from US investors who are seeing the returns on US private debt being driven down. Paul pointed out that it was still possible in Europe to achieve high risk-adjusted returns in certain strategies. However, it was also noted that some parts of Europe are riskier than others and the returns on larger transactions are reducing as a result of high liquidity.
